Real life Fairy Tale | Clarksville TN Wedding | Nashville Wedding Photographer

Locale:  Madison Street United Methodist

Where do I even begin……

I first met Paula when she insisted her best friend call me before hiring a photographer.  At this point Paula and I had never actually met but she had followed my work and my journey in wedding photography.  During her friend Ashley’s consultation she told me that I would be her wedding photographer one day.  I was extremely humbled and so grateful for her following my work and sending me brides but thought she has so many options and new photographers move here all the time.  So knowing she was an advocate for my work but also being a realist and knowing that at any moment she may find another photographer she loved.  I mean I love lots of photographers for many different reasons.  I just thought how could she be so sure.

Fast forward about a year and half I think it is.  I get a call from Paula.  She is engaged!  Her first call her Momma of course.  Her second, may have just been ME.  Wow, I am just so ecstatic.  Of course I have to hear the details.  Ryan proposed at a halloween party where Paula was dressed as the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella.  Oh this is so perfect.  Paula is a huge Disney fan. Disney is her favorite place.  I couldn’t even grasp the fact that this woman who I had met while helping plan her best friends wedding put so much trust in me.  Not only is she a bride but she works in the industry.  I work extremely hard to provide my brides with the very best and I give them my heart for their journey with me and pray that each bride walks away with more than images but a full experience that leaves their hearts full and overflowing.  So when a bride has chosen me before she is even engaged it is something that I do not take for granted or take lightly.  It is something I treasure and work even harder to make their decision one they do not regret.

Knowing Paula and knowing that she knows many people who will make her wedding a day to remember.  I could not wait to see it all come together.  Every single detail was perfect in every way.  Sure it rained off and on all day.  That didn’t change the fact that Paula and Ryan would be married.  Paula never lost the smile or glow she had that morning waking up knowing the day had finally came.  Ryan and Paula both were just so ready to say I Do.  I do not think anything could have put a damper on their day.  My favorite detail of their engagement and wedding.  Paula would wear Ryan’s grandmothers ring as her own.  Her family and dearest friends would have a part in every moment of her day.  Paula’s style would shine in her wedding.  From the beautiful shade of purple to her stunning wedding dress.  Ryan and Paula would marry in Ryan’s family church.  Their reception would be at the beautiful and unique Old Glory Distilling Co, this venue was absolutely perfect to show off their fun and modern side.  You see their day was not only the most beautifully designed day but it was truly about Ryan and Paula becoming husband and wife.  Something they both had waited so long for without even knowing it.  Friendship turned to love and respect so strong they could not live without each other. If you picked up a copy of the February VIP Clarksville Magazine you will see a two page spread of their amazing day featured.

I can tell you this. Their day was filled with love, laughter, good food and dancing.  Lots of laughing and dancing.  My team and I were reluctant to leave.  While we were working yes Paula made sure that we were enjoying the day as much as we were enjoying capturing it.  I am not sure I have ever had a bride come and sit with us for a few minutes during her own reception to thank us for being there.  To treat us more than staff but a part of her day.  That is a testament to the person Paula is.  My team talked about this for months.  They have never felt so appreciated as they did by Ryan and Paula both.

Paula, thank you for choosing me.  Thank you for trusting me with such a special day in your life.  And most of all thank you for our friendship.  Who knew photography would lead me to meet some of my dearest friends.
