In my last blog post I mentioned how I had two brides contact me for November weddings and both were planning their weddings in 2 months. That’s crazy right? Well neither of these sweet brides wanted to wait any longer. It reminded me of my husband telling me, “If we know we are going to do this, why would we wait?”

Today I want to share Brian & Jenny’s wedding. Jenny and I met several years ago working for a medical equipment company. Not a job we loved, but it paid our bills! From that job we made incredible friends. Initially when Jenny contacted me I was out of her budget and provided several links to other photographers who were extremely talented and in her budget. I would attend as a guest and that was something I wouldn’t change for anything. Well, I received a follow up email. Brian saw how important photos were to Jenny and they changed the budget to work with my smallest package so I could photograph it. To say I had a few tears is an understatement. I know Jenny personally and for her to have that much trust and faith in my work meant more than words can ever explain.

Anyway, lets talk about them because I have never met two people who love each other more. With time being short we did not do an engagement session. We planned the photo list for wedding day and again her ceremony is after dark. I explained the difference in lighting and suggested a first look but left it up to them. For their final decision, they wanted it to be an easy and fun day so we did do the first look. Oh the images just show how special a first look can be! The joy on Brian’s face to see his bride and the tears of joy down Jenny’s face were so emotional to photograph.

The venue they chose was the historic chapel at Montgomery Bell State park. It is the perfect venue for an intimate and simply sweet ceremony! The ceremony was solely focused on Brian and Jenny. It was about the love they waited to find and they were finally were able to become husband and wife. With Brian’s children in attendance it was evident the love that filled the room. To look around and see smiles and tears on every face just showed how happy everyone was for them.

In having the first look it gave us a chance to let them just be them and laugh. Jenny is a joyful spirit. I am sure it is one of the things Brian loves about her. To have these photos of them laughing and to see the peace they bring to each others world is worth a thousand words.

Before I close out this blog post I have to share their family photos. What I haven’t shared is that the very first paid session I had, was photographing Jenny, her parents and siblings. They have got to be some of the most fun people ever! Not only fun but incredibly loving and caring. Each family member jumped in to help make Brian and Jenny’s day as perfect as possible. From Brian making table center pieces to the sisters and moms decorating and seeing to every detail, it simply could not have been a better day. When families do whatever it takes to see the joy on someones face, it is what makes me love what I do all over again.
